So it was Dr. Hubby’s first night on call and one of the disadvantages of having two doctors in the household is multiple beepers. Yeh you guessed it! He forgot his home and took mine. You can imagine how helpful the lady with the broken neck was to the poor nurses who had very sick patients that needed attention STAT. Obviously, I called him with the necessary phone numbers to call them back…at 12:30am, 3:45 am and AGAIN at 4:30 am. My Mom slept through them all!
