It made me miss my hot air.  I hope you missed it too because I’m back.

Today was the day I reviewed my last year and reluctantly put away my Christmas decorations.

I read my last post of ‘my year in review’ and I learned I am bad at resolutions.

I didn’t do exactly all I said I would.

We were more charitable and  the Saviour was central to the season.

But, there was no cheesy family picture.

But we did have a lot of presents.  There were new traditions started.

We now have gingerbread pancakes on Christmas morning.

And there was lots of cooking and baking till the wee morning hours.

I made homemade turtles and Speculaas (Dutch Ginger cookies)

We had prime-rib, pork roast, stuffed turkey breast.

We had a hybrid Christmas tree. Oh and we bought a hybrid car.

And although we were away from our family, we have a great time with new friends and hope to be with family next year.

Would I change anything about the last year?

No. I don’t think I would.

I made many new friends.  I let my family know that I love them.  I helped a lot of people that were sick and I am a better doctor today than I was yesterday.  I am a better daughter of God. I am a better wife and mother.

I think we should end our year thinking about how much we have accomplished and less about the things we need to change.  Those things happen with time.

See you next year and we’ll talk some more.

Just kidding!  I promise I am going to blog again soon.

Happy 2011!
